 Welcomes New Board President Harold Phelps

The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City welcomed incoming 2017 Board President Harold Phelps, president and CEO of Phelps Engineering, at its annual Inaugural Celebration on Wed., Dec. 7 at the Westin Crown Center’s Benton’s Event Space, Kansas City, Mo.

“I am honored to lead the HBA of Kansas City in 2017. We are very optimistic about the ongoing housing recovery and we are excited to continue to offer programs and advocacy for the region’s home builders,” said Phelps, who also will lead HBA’s 2017 executive committee, which includes:

•Vice President: Gary Kerns, Gary Kerns Homebuilders, LLC
•Secretary/Treasurer: Shawn Woods, Ashlar Homes, LLC
•Immediate Past President: Brenner Holland, Hunt Midwest Residential, LLC
•Associate Representative: Rosemary Vitale, Reece & Nichols
•Past President Representative: Bob Frost, Frost Construction Company

The HBA recognized four members for outstanding contributions in the
following categories:

• 2016 Bob Bollier Award for Sales & Marketing: George McMillen, Wilson Lighting
• 2016 Fred J. Geier Associate of the Year: Alan White, First Federal Bank
• 2016 Next Generation Builder: Jerry Braklow, Braklow Custom Homes
• 2016 Builder Hall of Fame Award: Tom Woods, Woods Custom Homes
