The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is celebrating its tenth campaign in the Kansas City market, and award-winning new home builder Summit Custom Homes will build the Dream Home for the fifth year in a row. City of Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross and members of the City Council joined Fred Delibero, CEO for Summit, for the groundbreaking, which was attended by many of the tradesmen and vendors who will donate supplies and labor to the construction of the Dream Home this year.
Team members from Summit and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital hosted a celebration breakfast directly preceding the groundbreaking ceremony, where Zalman Kohen, President and COO for Summit, unveiled the floor plan of the Dream Home. The 4,195 square foot Templeton plan is a two-story home with six bedrooms and five bathrooms, incorporating a multi-generational guest suite on the main level with its private bathroom, walk-in closet, and laundry area. The main level also features an optional sixth bedroom with dedicated bathroom that can be used as a flex room or office with dedicated bathroom, great room with fireplace and built-in shelving, and a covered patio off of the open-concept kitchen and dining area.
The upper level contains the master suite with a custom tiled spa bathroom, oversized closet with built-in seating and island, and a connected laundry room. Three additional bedrooms and two additional bathrooms are located off of a vaulted loft space, which features a built-in media center.
The 2015 Dream Home will be built in The Shores at Chapman Farms, located off MO 7 Highway north of Colbern Road in Blue Springs. The 2014 St. Jude Dream Home was also built in Chapman Farms, a Summit Exclusive Community built around a thirty-acre lake and featuring a community pool and cabana, fitness trails, and a playground. There are currently ten completed homes for sale in Chapman Farms, with prices starting from $299,950. Available homes feature several of Summit’s top-selling floor plans, including the Preston Ridge IV, the Cotton Creek, and the Bristol Ridge. Summit recently put three model homes in the community on the market, and five additional homes are now under construction and will be completed this spring.
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway has become one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital nationwide. To date, the program has raised more than $288 million for St. Jude. Because a majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors through programs like this one, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
Tickets for the giveaway of the 2015 St. Jude Dream Home at Chapman Farms go on sale June 1st and the home will be raffled off at the end of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s Fall Parade of Homes on October 18th. Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.dreamhome.org or by phone at 1-800-385-9756.
