Lee’s Summit’s Winterset Now Taking Reservations for Community’s 31st Phase

Since its beginning in 1989, Winterset, the award-winning master development of 1,200 acres, has continued a mission to protect and preserve the natural environment while building a reputation as one of Lee’s Summit’s elite communities. Each of the five neighborhoods, Valley, Summit, Park, Woods and Garden, have been built on a reputation of perfection in community development and precision in community association management. Their success has been capped off with countless touches of love and respect for the more than 1,000 families that have chosen to call Winterset home.

“We are now accepting reservations in our latest, 31st phase of Winterset that features 24 home sites. The gorgeous homes will range in price from $400,000 to $1.4M,” said Kurt Lutz, onsite agent with Better Homes and Gardens, along with Leslie Marshall and Susie Zammar-Gale. “The five neighborhoods of Winterset have become the upper bracket ‘Lifestyle Choice by Design’ community in western Lee's Summit.”

Currently, 12 model homes are under construction by a number of the Metro area's elite builders including Gale Home Builders, JFE Construction, Pfeifer Homes, SAB Homes, Signature Builders and TruMark Homes. They construct homes throughout the Kansas City area and have a reputation of being very customer responsive. Their high level of service is critically important to maintaining the utmost quality of the community. Winterset is also open to approved builders.

“Home buyers can choose from a variety of premier home sites, including a number that overlook treed nature areas. We have 12 walkouts, six daylight home sites and six standard for those who do not desire a walkout,” said David Gale, President of Gale Communities, Inc. and sole developer of Winterset. “Here your dream home can back to the privacy of heavily wooded terrain that has not been touched for well over a century, if ever. And they are nestled within the "100-Acre Wood," an old-growth forest that connects to the extensive Winterset walking trail system.”

Winterset Valley is characterized by a wide array of home styles situated amid natural terrains and gently winding roadways. A massive 315-acre “mini” neighborhood with 300-plus single-family homes. This gem has proven to be an ongoing success amongst those wishing to provide a greater quality of life for the family.

Winterset Valley has a unique neighborhood feeling. The layout of the community has been impressing visitors since its opening. Quality homes and impeccable design combined with a wide array of amenities for everyone from the very young to the active empty nester are important contributing factors to Winterset's history of sustained growth and increasing home values.

Winterset Valley offers residents a variety of amenities featuring several outdoor activities designed to make the most of the beautiful, wooded surroundings, including three neighborhood pools (construction of #3 is underway), community center, tennis courts, over six miles of walking trails, fishing lakes, several designated parks as well as numerous ”pocket parks” and several butterfly gardens. In fact, the community’s third butterfly garden will welcome residents home to this newest phase. Two of the three community pools are geared specifically for children, with zero entry slopes and water park features. All of this sits just a short bicycle ride away from over 5,000 acres of parkland in Longview Lake Park.

Winterset has received more national environmental awards and designations than any other community in the four state region. And Winterset is the Midwest's only recipient of the coveted Global Releaf Certification recognized for its pioneering tree protection, tree planting program, and sensitive land planning by the Arbor Day Foundation, the National Association of Home Builders and American Forests. Gale’s careful planning and environmental awareness has always been about more than just planting trees.

Another big benefit of living in the Winterset neighborhoods is that residents are 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City, The Plaza, and Overland Park. Known as Lee’s Summit, Missouri’s upper bracket west side, Winterset Valley is truly the executive choice. Resident children attend highly rated Lee’s Summit Schools including Cedar Creek Elementary, Summit Lakes Middle School and Lee’s Summit West High School. West High has earned a Silver Designation by U.S. News & World Reports as well as Blue Ribbon status as one of the 10 best high schools.
